Side by side
Only rows where both products can be described from current product information. Prompt Genie details come from the public pages linked at the bottom.
Primary workflow
PromptShield. Improves the text prompt you already wrote. You review the suggestion, and Use this version replaces the draft only if you choose it. PromptShield does not send the message.
Prompt Genie. Describes one click that sharpens a rough idea into a more precise prompt before it reaches the AI, plus saving and reusing prompts from the library.
Supported AI chats
PromptShield. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, DeepSeek, and Meta AI’s web chat. Not Microsoft Copilot. Not a mobile browser extension. Meta AI support is not Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, or WhatsApp.
Prompt Genie. The extension page names ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Copilot, and also lists ChatGPT, Gemini, Anthropic, and Meta, and more. The homepage highlights ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Those pages do not publish one identical list.
Free usage
PromptShield. 3 successful optimizations per local day. No credit card.
Prompt Genie. The pricing page lists 1 Super Prompt generation per day and library storage limited to 15. A help article dated September 16, 2025 instead describes 7 starter prompts plus 1 new prompt each day, and up to 15 prompts in 3 folders. Those two official descriptions do not match.
Paid plan
PromptShield. New Pro subscriptions are $2.99 for the first month, then $7.99/month for unlimited optimization while the subscription is active. Cancel anytime. Free and Pro use the same optimizer.
Prompt Genie. The pricing page lists Professional starting from $8 per month billed annually, Teams starting from $33 per month billed annually, and lifetime Pro at $249 once. It shows a monthly billing option without stating that monthly dollar amount in the page text.
Prompt library
PromptShield. Prompt Library and Optimization History stay on your device by default.
Prompt Genie. Save and reuse prompts from the extension. Free storage is listed as limited to 15. Pro lists unlimited library storage. Teams adds a shared library.
Saved context
PromptShield. Optional conversation context is off by default. In the current product, Quick Check can use it in ChatGPT only.
Prompt Genie. Context Genies are described as saved background that follows you across AI platforms through the Chrome extension. The help article lists them on Pro.
Compare model answers
PromptShield. PromptShield does not run one prompt across several models and compare their answers.
Prompt Genie. Prompt Genie describes testing a prompt across ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. The help article lists that testing under Pro.
Image and video prompts
PromptShield. PromptShield improves text prompts in supported AI chats. It does not build image or video prompts.
Prompt Genie. The extension page describes image prompts for DALL·E, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion, and video storyboard or script prompts for models such as Veo3. Video prompt generation is listed under Professional.
Where it runs
PromptShield. Chrome extension on a computer, plus a signed-in optimizer on this site at /try. There is no mobile browser extension.
Prompt Genie. The help article says Free and Pro can be used on the Prompt Genie website or in the Chrome extension.
Team workspace
PromptShield. PromptShield publishes an individual extension and web optimizer. It does not publish team seats or a shared workspace.
Prompt Genie. Teams starts from $33 per month billed annually and lists up to 5 members, a shared library, role-based access, version history, and API access.
Two different approaches
You should not need to become a prompt engineer just to explain what you want.
Your prompt does not need more words. It needs the right information.
PromptShield starts from the request you already wrote, tries to keep that intent, and makes the request clearer. You review the suggestion before anything replaces your draft.
Prompt Genie’s public pages describe a different mix: sharpen a rough idea before it reaches the AI, save and reuse prompts, apply saved context, and test a prompt across more than one model. That is their description of the product. It is not a claim that one method produces better answers.
A written PromptShield example
This is a written example of the kind of change PromptShield is designed to make. It is not a live Quick Check, and it is not a Prompt Genie result.
What you wrote
write a blog post about remote work
A clearer version
Write a blog post about remote work that a reader could actually use. Compare what changes for someone managing a remote team with what changes for someone who is newly remote, and include one concrete weekly routine instead of a list of slogans. Keep it about the length of a short article, skip clichés about pajamas and hustle, and end with one change a reader could try next week. If the right advice depends on team size or the reader’s role, say so instead of inventing a company.
What changed
- Asks for a usable routine instead of a generic essay.
- Covers two real readers without assigning you one fake audience.
- Sets length and bans the clichés that make these posts sound the same.
Example of the kind of improvement PromptShield is designed to make. Written ahead of time. PromptShield did not generate this just now, and a real Quick Check will not always use these words.
Don’t take our word for it.
If you are comparing prompt optimizers, use the same prompt in each tool and keep the result that works better for you. This page does not show a Prompt Genie output, because we did not capture one.

Pricing
PromptShield
- 3 successful optimizations per local day. No credit card.
- New Pro subscriptions are $2.99 for the first month, then $7.99/month for unlimited optimization while it is active. Cancel anytime.
Prompt Genie
Prompt Genie’s pricing page lists Professional starting from $8 per month billed annually, Teams starting from $33 per month billed annually, and lifetime Pro at $249 once. Free Super Prompt generations are listed there as 1 per day. A help article from September 16, 2025 describes a different free allowance: 7 starter prompts plus 1 each day. Check the pricing page for the allowance that applies now. This page does not quote a monthly (non-annual) Professional price, because that dollar amount was not in the page text.

- You want to compare one prompt across ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.
- You want image or video prompt help of the kind their extension page describes.
- You rely on Copilot, or on another tool they name that PromptShield does not support.
